Client Shudown Notification at Server Side

I want to know is there any way to get notification at server PC when any client will be shutdown. i have use socket programming for client -server communication ..is there any other metode to do this. please help me ....thanks for advance...

yep there is, you can work with SNMP monitoring, this way you dont need the client to update the server, but the other way around, the server is monitoring the client which is a much better best practice...
