contained database authentication failure in sql server 2014

Greetings of the day,

               my name is Ram . Actually i wanna ask you a question regarding Contained database. i configured contained database in my SQL Server 2014 .The problem is when i want to login into my contained database i am getting error like login failed with thw error 18456....Is there is any need to create login in server level ?

           In the connect to server window i entered user name and pssword and i select options ->in connection properties section while connect to datatabase i am getting that your login failed. In that time , if i create login in server level then it works.....

       Will suggest any solution for that.....
