convert 08/06/2018 10:26:22 am to sql server in c#

How to convert 08/06/2018 10:26:22 am from excel in 12 hour format including date in sql server format

and 08/06/2018 10:26:22 pm from excel in 24 hour format including date in sql server format

using c# insert query

Go through following code to convert the DateTime from 12 hrs to 24 hours.

string currentDateString = DateTime.Now.ToString("dd-MMM-yyyy h:mm tt");

DateTime currentDate = Convert.ToDateTime(currentDateString);

Console.WriteLine("String Current Date: " + currentDateString);

Console.WriteLine("Converted Date: " + currentDate.ToString("dd-MMM-yyyy HH:mm"));

Whenever you want the time should be displayed in24 hours use format "HH"

Using extension methods are also good idea.

public static class MyExtensionClass

{

public static string ToFormat12h(this DateTime dt)

{

return dt.ToString("yyyy/MM/dd, hh:mm:ss tt");

}

public static string ToFormat24h(this DateTime dt)

{

return dt.ToString("yyyy/MM/dd, HH:mm:ss");

}

Then you can use these 2 methods as following:

var dtNow = DateTime.Now;

var h12Format = dtNow.ToFormat12h(); // "2016/05/22, 10:28:00 PM"

var h24Format = dtNow.ToFormat24h(); // "2016/05/22, 22:28:00"

DateTime dateTime = DateTime.Now;

string strMinFormat = dateTime.ToString("hh:mm:ss tt");//12 hours format

string strMaxFormat = dateTime.ToString("HH:mm:ss tt");//24 hours format
