Currency value into words

Hi all. i am working on a reciept generating form, So when i enter the amount recieved for example " 30,000 " into my " textbox1.text " i would also like to convert the value in textbox1 into words that is in my " textbox2.text " will show " Thirty Thousand Shillings only "

Is there any code that can convert my currency value into its words equivalent.

I'm not sure what you're doing wrong, Marvin, but if you paste the following method into your form class, then it should work:

hi vulpes i have tried the code you prescribed however i am getting an error
" The name 'NumberToText' doesn't exist in the current context "

Kindly direct me how to solve this.

For your particular application, you'd need to do:

int number;
string text = textBox1.Text.Trim().Replace(",", "");
bool isValid = int.TryParse(text, out number);

if (!isValid)
{
MessageBox.Show("Not a valid number. Please amend");
textBox1.Focus();
return; // assuming you're in some eventhandler
}

textBox2.Text = NumberToText(number, false) + " Schillings only";
