Date difference using datetime span??

In what way doesn't it work - can you be more specific?

Notice that if '15/01/2011' differs from the way you normally express dates in your current culture, then an exception will be thrown.

Here's one way:

DateTime dt1 = DateTime.Parse("15/01/2011");

DateTime dt2 = DateTime.Today;

int months = (dt2.Year - dt1.Year) * 12 + (dt2.Month - dt1.Month);

Console.WriteLine(months); // 10
