Assuming it's a Windows Forms application, try something like this:

MessageBox.Show("Please enter a folder path in the textbox");

textBox1.Focus();

return;

}

if (Directory.Exists(folderPath))

{

string[] filePaths = Directory.GetFiles(folderPath);

// add the file names to a listbox say

listBox1.Items.Clear();

foreach (string filePath in filePaths)

{

listBox1.Items.Add(Path.GetFileName(filePath));

}

else

{

MessageBox.Show("Folder does not exist");

}
