generating Unique code

I want to genarate unique code for a user which is of 8 digits and first 2 digits should be the last 2 digits of a year. for example if year is 2016 then code should be 16000001. please help me.

Try with below code:

int sequence = 1;
string path = DateTime.Now.Year.ToString().Substring(2, 2) + sequence.ToString().PadLeft(6, '0');

Here you need to implement logic to get sequence number(i have hard coded) like 1,2,3 etc..
