query string name is brand not brandID

Where the query string name 'brand' should match to your brandId name in filter class. If in the filter class it is brandId then use "/Controller/CarList?brandId="

i have a dynamic dropdown list of model of cars.if i select maruti or Tata then it will show list of maruti cars

How many filters are you passing from controller to view? If you are passing just the Brand then Jquery Ajax should be your approach with partial view on server side.

Otherwise, explain more about the scenario. 

You don't need to do anything, you just need to wrap all your controls inside a form and just submit the form. As you have multiple filters, the Model binder will take care of all, considering your control's name and class properties name are the same.

 

 

If you want to filter on the dropdown selection then you will need to return Partial view instead of view, because

Ajax doesn't do a full postback, so even if your data will be submitted to your controller action, you won't get the view back as the page will never refresh and the new tab will not open.
