Get universal time instead of system time

Hello I would like to get the current year irrespective of system time I tried using but this is but when I change the system time it is giving the respective year. Let's say the current year is 2017 and if I change my date to last year it should still show 2017

DateTime.UtcNow.Year

That is not universal date time. In fact, what you want cannot be done.

You probably need to call time server or some other api to do this. You cannot depend on your machine for that.
