How important is it for an AI Prompt Engineer to know programming?
I am asking for other members of my community, not myself; I am an experienced programmer. There are people in my small community looking for work and remote work is nearly a necessity. If they are capable of being a Prompt Engineer then that might be a useful job for them.
How often does a Prompt Engineer do programming? Is the programming sometimes complicated or is it usually relatively simple?
I asked Google and it says that programming is valuable but not always a requirement. ChatGPT says it depends on the type of Prompt Engineering done; for non-programming work programming importance is low to moderate.

I tried to add to this post but the forum software would not let me. The following is additional clarification.
I have seen the following of Mahesh's articles:
Can Non-Technical People Do Prompt Engineering?

Do I Need Coding to Be a Prompt Engineer?

I should clarify my question. For getting a Prompt Engineering job, how likely is an employer to require programming?
