How to display "loading" spinner while a query is executing in window application in asp.net c#

Is it possible your process is so resource intensive, the picturebox has no time to update? Try putting Application.DoEvents in between, just to see what happens.

I also tried picture box and set gif in it and it visible = true while executing code but its not showing gif....but when i display another dialog box using 'MessageBox.Show("hi")' then the gif is visible on the previous win form...

You can put a PictureBox on your form with a GIF in it, and then set that Visible = true; while processing.
