how to get first folder name from a file path??

i have a file path like

path =01ABCDATA\apps\data2\names\fstname

here i need to get the first part 01ABCDATA

i need to get the first word before firxtslash..how will we do this?

        {
            while (true)
            {
                string temp = Path.GetDirectoryName(path);
                if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(temp))
                    break;
                path = temp;
            }
            return path;
        }
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            string strpath = @"01ABCDATA\apps\data2\names\fstname";

            var firstFolder = Program.GetRootFolder(strpath);
         }
