How to retrieve data according to the user name into grid

I did it like this but it doesn't work. Nothing can view.

Yeah i can understand this one. How to select it. I just want to know to fill a grid view. usually we are using sqldatasources. 

 

For this time i cannt use a datasource. 

Try this 

 

For eg :  

SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("SELECT CustomerId, ContactName, City, Country FROM Customers where Contactname = loggedinuser")) 

 

 

First get filtered records base on user then dispaly it in gridview 

As per my understanding, if u login on ur machine, then you want see only the records

related to you isnt?

 

Solution 1:

 

Get the current loggedin Username from below statement,

 

string userName = System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name;

 

Then filter with this username in you inline query statement..

 

Solution 2:

 

You can implement WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION for your application.

Hi Mr.Rathrola,

 

Usually we fill the grid view using a sqldata source. Then it brings all the records of the table. But i want to take only for one user records. Imagine my UserName is kasuni and want to see what are things i have done.Not other users records.

 

How can  do that?

Please can you say what i wanna do.

Implement Forms authentication or else go for Roles Authentication.
