How to shift to a non-programming career after gap?

I have 5.5 yrs of exp in IT and 4.5 yrs of exp in C

Hi,

You can choose any job if you want. If you wish to join some other domain and if you have 4.5 Years of experience in C. than no problem. It will help you to upgrade your skills in other fields.
brush up on the latest technology or domain you are in interested in and try to get into it. undertake course on the field you want to join and try for the job. recession's getting over and you should get a decent job with a fair job. have no restriction on designation / salary (Unless you have commitments). aim to get into the industry first and plan from then on.
all the best. remember your attitude, enthusiasm and what you plan to do for the company (rather than what they can do for you) will take you places

I don't enjoy programming and so want to change track.

I am interested in business analyst and testing roles. I read about them, but was wondering if its actually possible to shift to different job role without any experience in it.

Salary is not an issue, but want to know if HRs actually consider such cases and call for interview.
