How to show read more and hide in jquery data table

I am having a data table in which the data is coming from database, there is a column having long text, so i want to limit the text to 30 words and add a read more link , when the user clicks on read more i want a popup to display the complete text

you use splice, substring in jquery and on more option using database
select left(columnname,30) , othercloumn from table

After click on cell you pass any unqiue id and fetch data from datbase after that show on popup.

bro, thats not what i want, i want to limit the text length , add a read more link and when user clicks on read more the complete text will appear inside pop up
