when image is not loaded so how to showing first letter of name using jquery.

Accepted answer
another solution is, specify the name in alt tag and show its first letter.
function doSomething(elem){
  var alt = document.createTextNode( elem.getAttribute('alt') );

  elem.parentNode.insertBefore( alt.charAt(0), elem );

  elem.parentNode.removeChild(elem);
}
"actual_image_src"  alt="Name" onerror="doSomething(this)" />

Use the following jQuery code to get your result:
