I am working on 'appointment booking' application.

'Appoiintment booking system' application. in the first form, i've used 3 combobox each for labels service provider, names, and timeslot respectively. A datetimepicker control is used for date. Depending on the service provider(such as electrician, plumber, doctor etc), second combobox list- i.e. names should change. A timeslot dropdownlist should show time intervals at runtime(say 9, 9:15, 9:30....). I need a source code for this form

Hi Nishant.

This sample project is purely academic. Please note that the implementation in the sample project would not likely be used in the real world.

Sample Code:

private void PopulateNameList(string provider)
{
// Subroutine: Populate Name List
// Purpose: Populate List With Data
// Return Value: None
// Notes: Normally this winform list control would be populated from a database.
// For academic purposes we'll code-pop the list with this code
// Using a decision structure to populate this list cboName is "Newb Coding"
// But since this is purely academic and we don't have a strategy pattern or we don't have a database
// then we'll use decision structure
// clear list
cboName.Items.Clear();
// populate list based profession (service provier)
// in the real world the profession (service provider) would be passed to stored procedure (database)
// the store procedure (database) would return a dataset/table
// the data in the dataset/table would populate the list
if(provider.Equals("Electrician"))
{
cboName.Items.Add("Harry WireFinger");
cboName.Items.Add("Sally Watts");
cboName.Items.Add("Franky Hotbox");
}
if (provider.Equals("Plumber"))
{
cboName.Items.Add("Peter Pipes");
cboName.Items.Add("Heather Hydro");
cboName.Items.Add("Nate Clog");
}
if (provider.Equals("Doctor"))
{
cboName.Items.Add("Harvey Gyno");
cboName.Items.Add("Anthony XRay");
cboName.Items.Add("Susie Backpain");
}
// select the first item
cboName.SelectedIndex = 0;
}
