I need to pass xml data/ file as parameter in rest service

I need to pass one parameter in rest service  which will accept xml file or xml data to pass to service and rest calculation will happen later ? I need suggessions on it. how can do tha coz Uritemplate has some limit to pass string , if we cross that request  will not hit the service then.
