I'm completely new to WPF

Question

I'm completely new to WPF. I started with silverlight. now i have to study wpf. is it the same? like in case of features and coding. in the developer perspective? Thanks in advance Sheela

Silverlight is the subset of WPF. Silverlight doesnot have a no of features that are there in WPF, but even in silverlight u can make an interface completely smilar to WPF. Please refer the blog by Mahesh chand in C# corner on the difference. Plese post if your issue still prevails

YES WPF has both, Windows and Web Pages. So a Window in WPF is equal to a Windows Form. A Page in WPF is equal to an ASP.NET Web page. WPF has everything. No need to learn anything else once you start with WPF.

If you go to home page of C# Corner, in the left side Categories, you will see a WPF link. This section has lot of articles on WPF including most of the controls. Here is a book chapter on WPF also. i dont guarantee that u can copy paste the whole code t for a part it is obviously possible. Most of the controls etc. are the same. Again SL has Usercontrol as the root object(or Page) But WPF has only button... Mark if this helps
