in/out in stored procedure?

Hi All,

Can we use in/out parameter in stored procedure?

can we use input and output parameter in one declaration?

Hi Ashok,

We can use out params in SQL .. I have prepared a sample on how to crate it and how to use it .
Create Proc GetDetailsAndEMPsecretCode
(
@EmpID int, -- Input Param
@SecretCode VARCHAR(100) OUTPUT -- Output Param
)
AS
BEGIN

Select * from dbo.EMP where EMPID=@EMpId

-- applying some logic and and assigning secret code to @secretcode

select @SecretCode=SCD from EMPSecretCode Where EMPID=@EMpId

END


-- Execution
Declare @SC VArchar(100)
Exec GetDetailsAndEMPsecretCode 12345,@SC output

print @SC

Ashok, Yes, we can use in/out parameter with stored procedure. By default parameter is in parameter and for out parameter you need to use out keyword.
