Insert values to sql server databse if id is auto increment

Hi,

Please look into this example of employee table

here EmployeeID is identity field which is auto incremented.

Use below code in aspx.cs page on button click

public void InsertRecord(Employee objEmployee)
{
try
{
SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["mycon"].ToString());
string query = "INSERT INTO tblEmployees VALUES(@Name, @Gender, @City, @Salary) ";
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(query, con);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Name", objEmployee.Name);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Gender", objEmployee.Gender);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@City", objEmployee.City);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Salary", objEmployee.Salary);
con.Open();
cmd.ExecuteScalar();
con.Close();
}
catch
{
throw;
}
}

Please try after putting your own connectionstring and let me know if it works for you
