Instead of Grid View can we use table???

Instead of Grid View can we use table for getting the data from database with using asp.net ???

Hey Priya,

I saw your Doc you design more attractive than that.also.

right click on gridview and click on Edit Template and design what you want.just bind the database value to the control.
and finish.

Thanks for quick replays..Actually I don't know more info about Grid view,Can we merge the more than one column into single column with grid view,and I'm attaching file, the file contains image ,please check and give me a clarification,can we design like that by using grid view

Dear Priya, Means you want to design as you want then you need to edit template there are lots of data control except grid to give more attractive design.use data control as per your choice any query feel free with me.

Gridview/Datagrid are server side controls in ASP.Net. However, they are processed by IIS and emitted as just "HTML" tables. Since they are "server" controls they comes with a lot of features like Paging, sorting etc. You are still allow to use "HTML" tables to render your data. That is you need handcraft the paging and sorting yourself. According to your question (design), yes table design is easy, but they are lack of functionality compare to Gridview. If you have any concern let me know.

Hii thnx for ur reply,what am feeling is compare to Grid view Table only good for any design,We can change the design how ever we want the design ,I think it's possible in grid also but compare to grid table design is easy to do right??

Hey Priya,

By Default Gridview is in the form of Table.
Yes you also used for table instead of Gridview .but here you need to write logic for each row and coloum to bind data.and for new row you need to manually write code .

Can you tell me why you want to switch gridview to Table.then we will help you which is better solution
