MDI Child form shows behind forms constols - Please HELP!!

Hello,
I build an MDI child form. When displayed, it is shown as expected indise and on top of the main container form, but UNDER the main form's controls.
I'v built it in accordance with MS instructions, and despite some nice friends on this form that tried to help me, I still can not get it to work.
If you experienced similar, please see the attached sample project and screen shots.

theLizard: To the extent that you are interpreting what I said to mean that MDI child windows are inflexible for the purpose of showing data, you are misinterpreting what I said. MDI parent and child windows are inflexible in other ways, such as in the manner you describe.

I am not interpreting anything that you said, I can't be bothered.

This is an inflexible MDI application for the sole purpose of presenting data from an SQL database take special note of the graph child windows, any number of these can be opened for any number of date ranges for any number of data sets for any number of data periods.

So I guess MDI is not flexible for showing data.

What you described in your first post on this is normal behavior with MDI applications, an mdi child form will always disappear under controls on the MDI main form unless the control is a dock tool bar in which case the mdi child will not pass beyond the right boundaries of the dock bar on the left of the MDI parent or the left boundary of the dock bar on the right of the MDI parent same with top and bottom.

It is generally not good practice to place controls other than dock bars on an MDI parent but if you need to to you can but you would have to manage the where the child forms positions would need to be in relation to the controls on the MDI.

Finally, MDI is a VERY flexible method of showing data in whatever format you want be it text type documents or images or database records as fields on a child form and anything else you can think of.

I had a misconception of what Container and Child forms are.
You opened my eyes to something that is probably so obvious, that it is ignored in the documents.
I simply removed the isMDIContainer property from the main form and now I have what I need.

I have not looked at your code, but if I undersand what you are describing then it is not supposed to work. A MDI child form is not supposed to work in a parent form that also has controls in it. Note that MDI means Multiple Document Window; they are meant for applications that need separate windows for multiple documents. Developers try to use MDI child windows when they need multiple child windows but MDI is not designed to support general-purpose Multiple Child Windows. MDI windows are not flexible enough for general-purpose use.
