Monitor Progress of Long Running ASMX Web Service ?

Is There any way to monitor long running ASMX web service process and show progress to client ?

Keep posting the "Progress" of the ASMX web service process in a table, file or in state management when the longer running process is being executed, and access & show that same source on page where you want to show this progress.
