Hi all!
As Dev Lead in my current company I'm in charge of the hiring processes for new devs.
Until now we had a traditional process having a conversation with HR, a technical interview and a technical test (in live), but we would like to strengthen a bit the same using some of the existing online tools that are on the market. I was thinking for instance in something like TestGorilla or similars.
I was wondering how other mates in our community do that processes and if you use tools like this or not.
What do you think? Have you used? Are they useful? Do them help providing a better process both for companies and candidates? If yes, which one you would recommend?
Many thanks in advance :)

Thanks both for your response,
I'll check specially HackerRank since I had not initially contemplated it.
Regarding the process I strongly agree with the drawbacks that you describe, my idea in that sense is to hav an additional tool to have better information without losing the contact with the candidates having something like this:
Do you think that having as a complement to a more traditional process is benefitial or redundant?
Many thanks!

Hello Xavier,
Using online tools for technical assessments can be a great way to streamline the hiring process and ensure that candidates have the necessary skills for the role. These tools can range from coding challenges and quizzes to video interviews and behavioral assessments. Some popular options include HackerRank, CodeSignal, Codility, and TestGorilla.
But the main issue or drawback in using online tools for technical assessments. For example, candidates may feel that the assessments are impersonal or that they don't accurately represent their skills. Additionally, there may be concerns around the reliability and validity of the assessments.
If you do decide to use online tools for technical assessments, it's important to choose a tool that aligns with your hiring needs and company culture. It's also important to communicate clearly with candidates about the assessment process and to provide feedback and support throughout the process.
