Null exception

I am getting null exception..
I tried everything and cant fix it.

Could you take a look at it and tell me how to fix it?

As far as I can tell, you only need player.Hand so I'd remove the declaration of the field, playerHand.

This line of code:

playerHand.AddCard(deck.RemoveTopCard());

will then need to be changed to:

player.Hand.AddCard(deck.RemoveTopCard());

One reason I do not like to download compressed fiels is because they add to the clutter in my system. Yes, of course I can put them in a temporary place and I can delete them when I am through with them but I am not sure when I will be through. So I prefer to not have the clutter. I don't mind it at all if there is a good reason to but when I see very little more than a compressed file to download I usually do not bother.

Also, I assume that a compressed file means a lot of code to look at. I assume I will need to spend more than 20 seconds to look at the code; probably much more.

You said you tried everything to fix it, but it is likely that if someone taught you how to debug then you also could solve problems like that on your own.

Ha! it worked, I had to change playerhand to player.hand in different place also, but now it works.

What do you think is better? If player.Hand is suffice, what would I have to change?

Frogleg has a point.

At least we wouldn't have to wait 20 seconds before we can download the code :)

Anyway the null exception appears to be being thrown on this line in the Deal method:

playerHand.AddCard(deck.RemoveTopCard());

and is due to playerHand being null.

In the StartGame method you have this line:

player.Hand = new Hand();

but you don't initialize the playerHand field.

What I wondered is whether you really need this field - would just player.Hand suffice?
