Problem in Background Image URL CSS is different to publish

Hello,

I have problem with my background image URL.

My directory struct it is a follow:

->Assets

-> css

-> siteB

->SiteB.css

-> Images

->example.png

When I am develop is work fine with:

background-image: url('../../images/example.png');

But when publish the project and run in IIS only work with:

background-image: url('../images/example.png');

Not exist resolution to this problem?

If you can change CSS file path and images path and try again. Means create one floder name as CSS in that create new style sheet name as site.CSS in project root path. And again create one floder names Images required images copy to newly created floder paste it. What is I am saying is try to change file path..... I hope understanding my suggestions?

Hi,

But with work in Debug and IIS each time that publish in IIS,

i have the change manually path url in file css?

Hi,

You need change like bellow only. In that what is the problem tell me.

development is work fine with:
background-image: url('../../images/example.png');

IIS in style

background-image: url('../images/example.png');

Note: no worries u have know the answer. When you debug the use like first one. When you run is just change style only it is working fine. If you facing errors please come back to me.

Hi, You have problem only one style file right.

Development (debugging) mode CSS file not working in IIS right?

hi,

is Assets/Css/SiteB/test.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />.

The background-image: url('../Images/example.png') is correct in IIS but in Develop no.

I had view css file in browser in IIS and project Debug, url pointer:

IIS: url(../Assets/Images/teste.png); -> http://localhost/Teste/Assets/Images/teste.png -> Correct

Debug: url(../Assets/Images/teste.png); -> http://localhost/PROJECTTESTE/Assets/css/Assets/Images/teste.png; Incorrect

Before check css link file what is declaredin source file means
like

Assets/Css/SiteB/test.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
or
Assets/Css/test.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

As per your requirement

The location is:
1. Assets/Css/file.css;
2. Assets/Images/example.png;

So

background-image: url('../Images/example.png');
It is corrrect.

That is why the path in IIS is ('../images/example.png');

as your folder structure publish it is follow:

   -> Assets
         -> css
         -> Images
   -> Bin
         -> Assets
               -> css
               -> Images

Please tell me file location of style sheet and image path like
examples :
1. Assets/Css/file.css or Bin/ Assets/Css/file.css
2. Assets/Images/example.png or Bin/ Assets/Images/example.png

I changed the file css with browser and working.

My structure folder publish it is follow:

-> Assets
            -> css
           -> Images
     -> Bin
           -> Assets
                 -> css
                 -> Images
      ...

Try like this way when publish the project and run in IIS just change the css file like below

background-image: url('../images/example.png');

It is my assumption only.

Hi, It not possible same name same path cant create two folder as assets. But you can created like assets floder contains another floder assets .
I am not sure. Why you have not working.

The folder IIS have in root assets folder and inside bin folder also.

The structure is the same.

Is normally i have two folder assets in IIS?

Hello,

The problem is that the URL background-image: url('../../images/example.png');
don´t work when running in IIS but working in develop.

Hi Diogo,

As per the directory structure you have given,

background-image: url('../../images/example.png');

this URL is correct and it will work fine.But i dont get why you changed the URL while it is running in IIS.
The same URL would work fine in IIS also.

If my assumption is wrong please correct me.
