Problem in iphone application while using Sqlite Database

hello frnds,
while making an  iphone application using Sqlite database m gettng the follwng problem:

m accessing data from database. for this i want to pass selected row index value of table view cell into the WHERE clause of SELECT command...How can i append string into the query?

Plz do reply if any1 could reslve the problem..
