Regular expression to validate date ?

Hi Sruthi,

This scenario can be done in two ways.

 

1. Regex :

^[01][0-9]-(Jan|Feb|Mar|Apr|May|Jun|Jul|Aug|Sep|Oct|Nov|Dec)-\d{4}$ - Trailing with zero

^ [1][0-9]-(Jan|Feb|Mar|Apr|May|Jun|Jul|Aug|Sep|Oct|Nov|Dec)-\d{4}$ - Trailing without zero.

Since you doesn't talk about the MMM Case Senstive format i have provided the regex like this & Believe you are datapicker control for the dates.

 

2. Tryparse Method :

DateTime outputTime;

string yourDate = "dd-MMM-YYYY";

bool isStringValid = DateTime.TryParseExact(toValidate,"dd-MMM-yyyy",CultureInfo.InvariantCulture,DateTimeStyles.None,out outputTime);
