scaning keyboard input

On a webpage? Are you going to write your own browser? You can only do w/ IE or some browsers allow you do. You could write a Java Applet perhaps.. but scanning in keyboard input from a web page.. come on.. you need to understand the base technology before you can do stuff with it.

This would be pretty great. Our intranet has a page where we can scan inventory barscans before shipping them out to people, but all I've done is made it so the page auto-focuses on the textfield, with metabuilders.com defaultbuttons control to make sure the proper button is always called when someone scans something. It works very well... unless someone clicks on a different text box before scanning. If you find a solution for this, please post it here!
