Silverlight or WPF Social Network

I wanted to get everyone opinion. I am new to developing social networks. So before I start designing a social network to some research?

What is your preference of designing a social network in Silverlight or WPF, and if not one of these choices, what would you use and why?

I said "WPF is not for web sites.". Not for web sites.

Thats what I am doing now is doing a little research as we speak sir. Can you point to a good website article. Basically you telling me for websites you would only use WPF and Silverlight for phone apps. I'm curious. I havent use WPF yet. But I just recently develope a successful web client server using straight HTML to host the website, but using silverlight for my animation and controls etc...........

At the moment I am new to creating websites, and I want to make sure I am heading down the right path when it comes to developing this social network project thats soon to come.

There are many useful articles in this web site, and many useful books. Do a little reading.

WPF is not for web sites. Silverlight is a subset of WPF designed for web sites.

You can purchase Mono for Android to develop applications for Android using Silverlight; MonoTouch is for iPhone, iPad, and iPod.
