Hello C# corner !

Can any body tell what is stored procedure in SQL server? How to write a stored procedure from scratch and what is the approach to write a Stored Procedure? I am new to this field and facing difficulty while working. Kindly Help.

Syntax Format:
Create Procedure Procedure-name
(
Input parameters ,
Output Parameters (If required)
)
As
Begin
Sql statement used in the stored procedure
End
Sample Stored procedure:
Create PROCEDURE GetstudentDetails (
@studentid INT --Input parameter , Studentid of the student
)
AS
BEGIN
SELECT Name FROM tbl_Students WHERE studentid=@studentid
END

Store Procedures are a precompiled set of one or more statements that are stored together in the database. They reduce the network load because of the precompilation. We can create a Stored Procedure using the "Create proc" statement.
