test this

DateTime sample = DateTime.ParseExact(yrdate, "dd/MM/yyyy", null)

or

DateTime sample = DateTime.ParseExact("yrdatetime", "dd/MM/yyyy h:m", null);

DateTime date = DateTime.ParseExact(this.Text, "dd/MM/yyyy", CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);

or simply change your web.config as

"en-GB"/>
