Text to image *newb*

Question

Hello! I've been reading all these articles about rotating, scaling and so on. Also about how to add comments to pics. My question is wheter it's possible to generate a image-file (jpg, gif or bmp for example) from text only. More precise: You put in some text in a Textbox, say "1/2", then I'd like to generate a picture with a fraction, with the numbers on top of eachother. (since my explanation might be a bit hard to get check this out: http://www.hargelid.se/mathprob.jpg This means i must parse the expression, put the "1" in a specified position, draw a line and put the "2" in another specified position. Is there any components doing this already? Any other suggestions are also welcome. The closest I've got is Soft4sciences MathML Renderer (http://www.soft4science.com/fr_index.html?/products/MathML_Renderer/s4s_MathML_Renderer.html) but I would very much like to skip the whole MathML-step. Maybe it's not possible, but maybe someone can tell me that =) Thanks in advance from a stuck one....
