i am sorry i forgot a major thing, do not forget to put up a default in the case statement saying : default : base.WndProc(ref msg);break; otherwise u wouldn't do anything with any other messages that u catched.

U have to catch the WM_PASTE message windows fires when u use U can do this by overriding the next method protected override void WndProc(ref Message msg) { switch(msg.MSG) { case WM_PASTE : do nothing break; case WM_CONTEXTMENU : do nothing break; //to disable the right clicking contect menu. } } in the class define the variables WM_PASTE and WM_CONTEXT als following : private const int WM_PASTE = 0x0302; private const int WM_CONTEXTMENU = 0x7b; goodluck

My application allows the user to construct an SQL search using set fields, I have written a number only textbox, but the user can still paste characters into this field. Without alot of extra error checking the best way is to disable the paste function.

Why would you want to stop cut and paste?
