The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file

Hi everybody

I have this problem whenever I upload excel sheet through my application .

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'C:\Users\ME\Documents\My-List.xls'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

the application is on the server . but if I run it locally it will work perfect .

can you help me fixing it please .

Hi,

Without seeing your code i can not predict anything. But as you said in your question that your code is working perfect on local machine you are facing this problem when you publish your application on application server i will suggest you please check your code for which path it is using while uploading the file.

There is might be a possibility that your application is trying to open excel file where file does not exist or it is opened/used by other process. Also check that your application should have proper permissions to access this file.

If you still face any issue please post your code which is you are using to upload file. It will help us to find issue you are currently facing and based on that we will try to provide you proper solution.
