The Thread Class existed in the first version of .Net. The Task and Task classes were released in .NET Framework version 4.0 and the first version of .NET Standard and .NET core. My suggestion is to learn them without async and await . I first learned about multitasking using IBM Mainframe computers before Windows existed. I understand multithreading and multitaksing (I think they are the same thing) but it is sure difficult for me to understand async and await . I sympathize with you about wanting clarity of how async and await work, I have yet to see a clear explanation. I am not saying to not use async and await ; I am just saying that it will help to understand how multitasking works if you learn how to do it without async and await .
