hi how to populate a tree view control from database dynamically.after populating tree view i need to open or give a link to each child node(which is populated from database) to a different aspx pages i am using c#.net and sql for this hoping for ur help

Hi Ruchi, Then each child's page should have a common format. Ex: child a >> a.aspx child b >> b.aspx If you can use the name of the child as the name of the page as mentioned above, then we can write the code as follows. TreeNode cNode = new TreeNode(CRow["Dept_Name"].ToString()); cNode.NavigateUrl = string.Format("{0}.aspx",CRow["Dept_Name"].ToString()); PNode.ChildNodes.Add(cNode); Hope this will resolve your problem.

hi niki That answer worked, thanks a lot for that. But i got one more problem ,actually child nodes should directs to differnt pages.according to the above answer childnodes can direct to only one page.for example,' a' childnode directed to a.aspx page and 'b' child node should direct to b.aspx page like wise other child node directs to their respective pages. what should i do for it.

HI NIKI Thanks for ur reply PNode.NavigateUrl="Default.aspx"; directs to the Default.aspx page . where PNode means Parent nodes. now i need to make links to the childnodes of that parent nodes, so that child nodes also directs to its respective pages like Parentnode(PNode). Suppose A, B, C are parent nodes.and a,b,c are child nodes of those Parent nodes A B C.here in my project child nodes for three of A,B,C are same.now i need to make a links to child nodes a,b,c so that it could also directs to its respective pages. what should i do for it.

Hi Ruchi, It seems, what you have done is correct. If you have set the following property, when you click on that node, it will direct to that page. PNode.NavigateUrl = "Default2.aspx"; So tell me what's the problem? Please be more specific. :) I hope I can help you.

i visited that site but that didnot help me.
