Trying to add Web-api

I tried what U said and one more I tried like creating  WebApiConfig.cs  and calling the class in Global.ascx.cs in Application_start Event

 

GlobalConfiguration.Configure(WebApiConfig.Register); 

Now, You can add the web api right...

 

can you show me your code, How are you doing this?..

Yes,I tried but not working am not able to reach to the service mean not hitting..

 

I installed add new item web-api controler and installed web api  fromnuget package 

I think,you have forget to add core reference when you create a empty project.

 

No problem, You can install web api using NuGet package manager. It will load all Web Api Core reference.

It is posiible to add WebAPI services to your empty project but will require a lot of things. If you have the freedom to create another fresh solution then I would suggest go with that. While creating the new solution you will have a Web API checkbox at the bottom which you need to check which will automatically generate the API libraries and required classes for you for you. Please see the diagram below for the check box

 

 

 

Once you have created the solution, on the solution explorer you will find a folder named controller, right click on it, hover over Add and click controller. Once you hit that you will get the following screen

 

 

 

Visual Studio gives you the ability to choose from a wide variety of API but all of them are same with some extra libraries or namspaces added to the API class which you can do later as well. Once you hit Add button at the bottom you will have your first WebAPI class ready.

 

Now you can create API methods in the class.
