WebParts Visibility

well here is a new one, one of the requirments i gave to the dev team, is to set the visibility of a webparts to false on some action occourance. they said it cant be done.....
can anybody help me out on this, dev is on sharepoint 2007

there is no such thing as impossible.... you surely can do this, the error your developer are talking about is well known to me, its a problem that happens since they interveen in the process of the page lifecycle to soon, the point where they need to set the WP to Visible = false is on the Prerender Event. One more thing they need to makesure that in the SPContext the Form is not in Authoring Mode. otherwise it will not work. good luck
