Hi all, can you please clarify my doubt what are the technical skills for a 3+ Exp .Net developer?

Regarding Is there any growth in .Net compare to Java?... Your Interest Matters There isn't any like that. But Java introduced before .NET and also Java has evolved along with internet revolution. So it will long last as a technology more contributed to internet. But picking a technology is purely based on your interest/skill as then only you can be a master in it. I started my career as a DOS programmer and I liked the user friendliness of MS than open source. So I chosen Microsoft areas as my main technology. But done a huge technology migration throughout years like DOS->DOS Foxpro->Visual Foxpro->VisualBasic->ASP->.NET->ASP.NET-> Azure etc...Technology changes, but all MS based. Moreover I didn't skip old technologies, but just added new technologies to my skill by keeping my old knowledge. Continuous Learning Nothing static and everything changes, but not leaving the old completely. e.g. a developer started as C# developer in 90's should currently learn Azure too so that he can use C# SDKs in Azure. He got an advantage over a person who just studied Azure, but don't know C#. So to know what are the changes and what to learn you need to read multiple technical forums. e.g. this forum itself, https://www.infoq.com/ etc...Please subscribe their news letters and you will get weekly emails. So the effort from your side is important. Reading is very important in corporate world. Master One Stream, Literate about Others The mistake people do is look their buddies and then learn some technologies and later moved completely to another technology by seeing immediate scope in it. Later again moved to something else. So after many years, you would be in a situation that "Jack of all trades, master of none" ... Hope I put some points here. Proficiency with C# is a must, with a familiarity of its coding environment (which is mainly Microsoft’s Visual Studio). Knowledge of the .NET framework and its newest features. Which means constant studying as mentioned before. Strong understanding of the structure and logic of Object-Oriented programming. The ability to write a clean and readable code in C#. Since most projects tend to grow in size, this could be a life saver when you want to find a bug in code you wrote a few months earlier. Architectural Knowledge is Must
