What is moonlight?

Hi All,

I'm very new to C# programming. But recently my manager told me I need to research on Moonlight.

Do I have to read and study on C# before I go for this or should I just start with this?

I have seen that this is a linux version of Silverlight. So I included in this section. Please help me on this

Moonlight is an Open Source implementation of Silverlight, primarily for Linux and other Unix/X11 based Operating Systems. In September of 2007, Microsoft and Novell announced a technical collaboration that includes access to Microsoft's test suites for Silverlight and the distribution of a Media Pack for Linux users that will contain licensed media codecs for video and audio.

Moonlight 2 was released December 17, 2009

U need not know too much in C# but basic know how is always required. have an idea on silverlight as well.
