What is the difference between drop, delete and truncate command in SQL Server

There are various forms of 'DROP' statement which remove the appropriate entity from the current database or SQL Server instance. For example DROP DATABASE, DROP PROCEDURE and DROP TABLE though there are many other variations.

The 'DELETE' statement removes rows from a table or view.

The 'TRUNCATE TABLE' statement removes rows from a table but doesn't log the deleted rows. It is therefore similar to 'DELETE' without a 'WHERE' clause but operates more quickly.
