in your example, it is an anonymous type, this means an object of the un-named class. Otherwise, var is a compile-time variable that gets cast to the type it is assigned to, and thus you get the IntelliSense even when you don't use the proper type Name.

var a= new Employee(){}; // a is of type Employee
var a= 11; //a is an integer.
var a = new {}// a is of anonymous type

In your case it's Anonymous Types. You can cursor over that variable then it will show type of that variable.
