Hi onkar Sharma, Virtualization: Virtualization is the "creation of a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, such as a server, a desktop, a storage device, an operating system or network resources". In other words, Virtualization is a technique, which allows to share a single physical instance of a resource or an application among multiple customers and organizations. It does by assigning a logical name to a physical storage and providing a pointer to that physical resource when demanded Types: 1.Hardware Virtualization. 2.Operating system Virtualization. 3.Server Virtualization. 4.Storage Virtualization. Benifits: 1.Reduced capital and operating costs. 2.Minimized or eliminated downtime. 3.Increased IT productivity, efficiency, agility and responsiveness. 4.Faster provisioning of applications and resources. 5.Greater business continuity and disaster recovery. 6.Simplified data center management.

Virtualization is technology that lets you create useful IT services using resources that are traditionally bound to hardware. It allows you to use a physical machine’s full capacity by distributing its capabilities among many users or environments. Software called hypervisors separate the physical resources from the virtual environments—the things that need those resources.
