Hi,
I'm looking to run visual studio 2008 (for C#/WCF development) on a laptop.
What spec processor should I be looking at for reasonable performance. This is to be bought on a budget and will probably be second hand as it's for a training/personal projects rather than official business - we are all desktop based with dual monitors at work.
Thanks
Martin.

Well, Microsoft's recommended (not minimum) hardware requirements for running VS 2008 are:
CPU 2.2 GHZ
RAM 1024 MB
Display 1280 X 1024
HD 7200 rpm, 2GB needed for full install
In practice, you could skimp a little on all these requirements but not on RAM where I'd look for 2048 MB or, failing that, upgrade the RAM yourself.
The full versions of VS (though not so much the Express versions) will run like a dog otherwise.
