What will be the next major technological breakthrough

AR and VR have already started transforming the way we interact with technology, and it will continue to do so in the future. AR and VR can improve education, entertainment, and even remote work. Quantum computing has the potential to revolutionize computing power and solve problems that classical computers cannot.

Something that has been developing is the ability to connect to our brains more directly. Instead of using a keyboard, screen, touchscreen, headpeice or microphone, technology to connect computers and othjer devices more directly is being developed. I assume you have heard about things like that.

Most people have not heard of hydrocarbon fuel cells. I do not know if that is the official term. Most people have heard of hydrogen fuel cells. Yet hydrocarbon fuel cells (whatever they are called) occur every second of every animals life, including people's lives. In a hydrocarbon fuel cell, hydrocarbons (such as sugar and gasoline) are combined with oxygen (the stuff we breath in) to produce water, carbon dioxide (the stuff we breath out) and electricity. If scientists can develop hydrocarbon fuel cells that are economical then that will make the use of hydrocarbons such as sugar and gasoline much more efficient.

As far as I know, scientists have only limited ability to grow something from DNA and their ability to alter DNA is limited. Some day scientists will know how to design an organism and grow any organism they design.

Robots are becoming sophisticated and economical. Hopefully they will become affordable and practical for everyone.

As we see before our eyes, AI is the next major tech breakthrough, and so is blockchain. But AI is the big one.
