When do we use Static class and Static method?

Please clearfy me anybody...... What is the basic use of Static Class, Static member and Static Method. Please explain me for each one. Its very great thanksful to you. Thanks srikanth v

Static class mean the whole class can have one instance only with all members static. If you have a static method, means class can have multiple instances but that particular (static) method can have a single refernece only.
