Which AI tools can help developers boost productivity?

Question

I’m looking to learn about AI tools that developers are currently using to improve productivity. Tools that assist with coding, debugging, code reviews, documentation, or development workflows would be helpful. It would be great to hear recommendations based on real-world experience and how these tools have improved your development process.

There is also Github Copilot. It is provided (built into) Visual Studio and I assume Visual Studio Code. Note that there are at least 3 versions of Copilot; there is also Microsoft Copilot and there is Microsoft 365 Copilot and they are al different products. There is Claude and Claude Code. Claude Code is available either in a terminal, in VS Code, as a separate desktop application or in a browser. Many virtual assistants (AI), such as Google's Gemini, are available as extensions in IDEs. Look in your favorite IDE for relevant extensions. Perplexity AI is available in browsers and exposes APIs that other products and OEMs use. Cursor is a fork of VS Code. It is explicitly enhanced with AI for application development. I think it is quite good at generating programs. Theia from IBM is also a fork of VS Code and has very extensive capabilities for adding AI. The capabilities are so extensive that it is frustrating for me to figure it out. The options are so extensive that you need to be specific about your requirements.
