Hi Jaya,
Web API is a framework for building RESTful web services on top of the .NET Framework. It has been around for a while and has a strong track record of being used to build scalable and robust web services.
.NET Core, on the other hand, is a cross-platform, open-source version of the .NET Framework. It allows developers to build web applications and services that can run on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It has a smaller footprint than the full .NET Framework and is designed to be more modular and performant.
In terms of future growth, .NET Core is expected to continue to gain popularity as it provides greater flexibility and scalability. The adoption of .NET Core by Microsoft is also increasing as they are moving their own products and services to .NET Core, and they are encouraging other developers to do the same. With the new features and improvements of .NET Core, it is more likely to have more growth in the future.

Hi,
Both are required for a full-stack development concept but if you are a good learner then it would be better to learn both of them together.

You should ask Javascript (React/angular)+WebAPI or ASP.NET Core MVC,
and more over asp.net core is now unified meaning same mvc project can be used to make APIs, so your question is invalid for present perspective.
Also, .NET Core is a very vast term, its a framework that includes all workload console, web (asp.net core, Asp.net core razor, Blazor etc), Desktop app.
Asp.Net Core web api is built over .NET Core so there is no comparison.

ASP.NET Core
ASP.NET Core is an open-source, cross-platform framework for building modern, cloud-based web apps on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
ASP.NET Core provides the following benefits:
ASP.NET Web API
The ASP.NET Web API is an extensible framework for building HTTP based services that can be accessed in different applications on different platforms such as web, windows, mobile etc. It works more or less the same way as ASP.NET MVC web application except that it sends data as a response instead of html view. It is like a webservice or WCF service but the exception is that it only supports HTTP protocol.

WebAPI is one which we can create using multiple tech stacks, it may be using .net core, python, or node and etc., If you ask about growth, then both have their own pros and cons.
